$7 Dinners (Part 3)

It's baaaaaack! Due to popular demand, I've put together ANOTHER week of $7 dinners! These are all gluten-free, healthy meals, and they all work for Trim Healthy Mama! You can scroll to the very bottom of this post to download a printable shopping list. I've found I spend far less than $7 per meal when I order chicken, but you can also get it at Costco.
If you aren't familiar with my $7 Dinner posts, you can check out $7 Dinners Part I and $7 Dinners Part 2. The idea is that these 7 meals average out to about $7 per meal, feeding at least 6 per meal. Pretty great for a healthy dinner, right? These have been averaging about .90 cents per serving at my house.
Depending on your family's appetites, you may want to grab a bag of brown rice to serve as sides, or ingredients for side salads or frozen veggies for extra filling meals.
As with my other $7 Dinner Posts, you could make these meals even cheaper with coupons, buying in bulk, or even Target Cartwheel.
Let's get started! Here are the meals, and I'll share a screen shot of my online Kroger shopping list below. I don't have my actual receipt, because I have 5 kids. (That's enough of an explanation, right?) I had to go back through and recreate an online shopping cart so I would have proof for you. 😉
Slow Cooker Chicken Chili (THM E) (omit the cheese to keep this an E)
Tuna & White Bean Salad (THM E) (doubled)
Basil Chicken with Artichokes and Tomatoes (THM S) (I halve the chicken breasts length-wise to make additional servings, but you could always add more chicken if needed)
Ground Turkey and Peppers (THM S) (doubled to feed 8)
Garlic Parmesan Chicken (THM S) (doubled to feed 6-8)
Tuna & Spinach Salad (THM S)
fresh spinach, remaining canned tuna, cucumber, tomato, and leftover/remaining veggies w/ salad dressing
Mexican Zucchini & Beef (THM S)
And here's a screenshot (4 pages) of my Kroger shopping list – you can see that the online total was $49.77, but I actually spent less than that in the store:
Shopping List for One Week of $7 Dinners
This shopping list does not include some staples, because I already had most of these at home, and it's likely that you will, too. Adding these ingredients would not change the cost much, because you'd only be using about .02 cents worth of the spices per dish.
I have more inexpensive meal ideas coming soon! Thanks for reading!

I may have missed the link, but is there an easy printable of the menu?
Sorry, Natalie, I don’t have a menu printable this time, just a shopping list! The feedback I got from $7 dinners was that there are usually one or two meals that people like to skip so they don’t use the menu anyway. I’ll definitely make one next time if you would use one, though!
Thats do nice! I can just copy and paste it when I’m on my computer. Thank you though! And thank you so much for sharing these with us! I really need some budget friendly meals after the holidays!
These are great! I’ve made the garlic Parmesan chicken before and it was amazing! I’ll have to add it to my meal plan for the family next week! I love that these recipes are budget friendly. I went a little too crazy at the store last week and need to cut back a little for the upcoming week and this makes it super easy 🙂
Hi Jenn! Thanks for commenting! It’s funny you say that, because my husband was teasing me that I should call this my “Oops I overspent on the grocery budget” menu, lol.
I always have a difficult time picking sides. What would you pair with the chicken with tomatoes & artichokes? Either THM friendly or not (for the family). Thanks!
Hi Jenn! Honestly, I often skip sides on that one! I do have a list of my 40 favorite side dishes, so you could take a look and see if something appeals to you? I think that dish fills everyone up, but a salad never hurts. 🙂
How much chicken or beef do you order from Zaycon at a time? I homeschool with 5 kids as well, however they are young (11 years old down to 3) and don’t eat a ton yet.
Do you order one case and then by the time you need more they are coming to town again?
Hi Kara! Yes, that’s exactly what I do because the last time I tried more than one case I couldn’t fit it all in my freezer! I think one case is just perfect for us, and just like you said, they come through again when I’m close to running out, so that’s when I reorder. 🙂
I was trying to copy your grocery list from the pics you posted and noticed that the third and fourth pages are identical. Is there a page that is missing?
Hi Dee! Thanks for the heads up, but there’s no need to copy! You can download your own printable version of the shopping list by scrolling to the bottom of the post and clicking the blue download button.
