Most Helpful on THM

Bootcamp with Coach Jen Every year, I have new Bootcampers who are “gifted” their first month or few months of Bootcamp (usually by parents or husbands), and these ladies KILL IT every time! I'm happy to process gift subscriptions – just ask the gifter to email thewellplannedkitchen@gmail.com with the giftee's email address!

THM Coaching, Classes, and Courses with Coach Jen – I have many other incredible helpful online courses, classes, and even 1:1 coaching at the link above!

Instant Pot Duo Multi-Cooker My Instant Pot has been my constant countertop companion for years. This is how I cook meat from frozen quickly and easily, how I get brown rice and hard-boiled eggs cooked quickly and easily, and so much more. When I'm in the kitchen making dinner, I almost always have a single ingredient prepping in the Instant Pot that I'll cool and freeze to use later. I credit my Instant Pot with helping me to always have food prepped and ready to stay on plan!

Travel Lunch Bag (perfect for car snack bags!) A good lunch bag is critical for keeping food with you! If you're in Bootcamp with me, you know how important your car snack bag is (and you have the big list of Shelf-Stable Snacks to put it in it)!

Mini Salad Dressing & Sauce Travel Containers These tiny containers are perfect for packing salad dressings and sauces on the go!

Rotary Cheese Grater I've had my rotary cheese grater for years, and it is a must-have item, in my opinion! Once I got this, I never went back to a traditional or box grater. It makes grating cheese SO EASY, and I use the slicing accessory for perfect cucumber slices. This is one I can't imagine doing without!

End Grain Cutting Board A good quality end grain cutting board is a kitchen staple!

Freezable Snack Pack This snack pack is so cool – you stick the entire thing in the freezer, then pack your cold snacks in it when you're on the run!

Fitness

Walking Pad I LOVE my walking pad and use it nearly every day while I'm working! One of my best friends pulls hers out anytime the family is watching TV and has used it to up her step count to 11,000.

Weighted Vest – This is one of the few items I'll say is a MUST HAVE. I love it! I bought a 12 pound vest and quickly realized it was a bit too much for a beginner, so I bought an 8 pound vest to start with and worked my way back up to 12. I especially love using the weighted vest when I don't have time to get a workout in – it's made a huge difference in my body composition!

Adjustable Dumbbells I don't have these, but I want them! These have been on my Christmas wish list to replace my free weights.

Vibration Plate This is the exact model I have – I give it a 10/10! I use the vibration plate to de-stress, maintain muscle mass, and I absolutely love it. Plus, the bands that come with it are fantastic for work outs. I've had mine for over a year and it still looks and works like new, even though I use it multiple times per week.

Women's New Balance Sneakers I love my New Balances! I've used these for workouts and daily use for years! This neutral shade goes with anything, but there are other colors available.

Padded Hip Thrust Belt This belt makes it so easy to get a good workout at home without heavy duty equipment like barbells.

Rebounder I only use mine for 5 minutes at a time, but it's fabulous and there are so many health benefits that come from just those few minutes per use!

Must Haves for Walking Outdoors

I walk outside twice a day nearly every day, for about 30 minutes each. I used to get about an hour in at one time, but since we got our puppy in July we've broken it up into two 30-minute sessions (sometimes longer). On average my husband and I walk 3-4 miles per day.

I started taking walking more seriously in 2020, logging 3-6 miles per day. But that winter, I started staying inside when it was cold and had to get back into the habit (and shed a few winter pounds) in the spring.

I did that for several years, but last year I noticed that since I slept better, felt better, looked better, and had better lab numbers when I was walking, I should keep going through the winter! So I started adding pieces of gear to keep me warm and cozy while I walk, and both last year and this year I've been walking in cold temperatures and loving it.

To date we've had several days where the conditions wouldn't allow us to walk safely, so I am paying attention to safety, but when it's safe to go, I bundle up and go! Here are some of my must-haves for walking in cold weather. I do add another layer if it's below 30 degrees (I'll put baggy sweatpants over my fleece leggings, a thermal shirt plus a hoodie and a coat, etc).

Fleece-lined Leggings

Fleece-Lined Headband

My Favorites

LMNT I use 1/2 a packet in a glass of warm water first thing every morning! If you use my link, you can get a free packet with purchase, too!

Four Sigmatic Coffee I switched to Half Decaf years ago and never looked bag. This particular variety of Four Sigmatic is made specifically to “De-Stress” and I absolutely love it!

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil I started double cleansing about five years ago, and it's still part of my routine! I use the cleansing oil on dry skin, then add a bit of water to emulsify, then rinse. Then I'll go in with a regular cleanser and wash my face. My skin feels SO clean (but not dry) after double-cleansing – it's totally worth the extra step!

Alpine Berry Tea One of my favorite teas – it's absolutely delicious!

Kitsch Flat Hair Claw Clips I switched to these after Instagram got me with the “dangers” of regular claw clips, and found that they suit my hair so much better (plus, I can lean back and relax with these in).

Striped Socks These are not cozy, fuzzy socks – they are on the thinner side, but SO CUTE over a pair of leggings or skinny jeans!

Static Nails I NEVER thought I'd be a press-on nails person. I never even used to paint my nails! About three years ago, a friend gave me a gift card for a nail salon and I was hooked. I went every two weeks for years. But I am super busy with my THM coaching clients, and giving up an hour of work time to go to the nail salon every two weeks was starting to strain my schedule – not to mention my wallet!

I found Static Nails and followed the instructions very carefully and the press-ons lasted for 14 days! Yes, even with washing dishes every day, bathing kids (and myself, of course), cooking daily, scrubbing, etc.

Then a few months ago, Pearl and Serene mentioned Static Nails on the poddy – Serene said she liked that the glue was more natural. I hadn't even known that! I'm a huge fan of the nails, the easy, quick application, and the price!

P.S. here are the steps I take to make them last – I rough up my natural nails with an emery board, rub with alcohol wipe and let dry, rough them up again, apply nails with glue at 45 degree angle under cuticle and press firmly for about a minute.

Satin Midi Skirt I was influenced to buy this skirt on Instagram, and I'm so glad I did! It's so cute with a sweater and boots, or with heels and a blouse for a dressier look. I have both the navy blue pictured above and black.

ChocZero Keto Bark I do not recommend this if you struggle with self-control, but if you can stick to one piece occasionally it's a delicious special treat!

Wella Ultimate Repair This is expensive, and amazing. It completely rescued my hair so I think it was worth it!

Batwing Sweater I have this in three colors – Army Green, Tan, and Caramel. I love it because I wore it when I was a size 12 (170 lbs) , and now at a size 6-8 (134 lbs), and it has looked great at both ends of my spectrum and in-between! It's one size fits all, which threw me off at first, but it is SO flattering!

15 oz Latte Mugs My very favorite mugs – the texture adds some detail and they are so cute! Plus, they are dishwasher and microwave safe. The honeycomb pattern is my favorite so it is used far more often than the others (even though they are all very pretty).

Lip Mask This lip mask is one I replace when it runs out – I absolutely love it!
