Healthy, Quick Recipes for Busy Moms
A few months ago I wrote about SUPER quick recipes – you know, the kind that can keep you from leaving the house for takeout. Those were about 20 minutes from start-to-finish. I’ve been using those recipes, and they’ve been SO helpful for crazy busy days, but I realized that I need a list of go-to recipes that I can prepare quickly, with just a few minutes of hands-on time, so I can get to other things before dinner. This collection of healthy, quick recipes has already been heavily utilized by my family over the past few months, and we are loving every recipe on this list!
For example, if my living room looks like Hello Kitty and Star Wars had a massive battle with many stuffed casualties, and I need to clean it before dinner, I can spend just a few minutes of prep and pop one of the recipes below in the oven and get to work on the rest of the house. Or on days that we have to run out for music lessons, I can spend just 5 minutes or so in the kitchen getting a crockpot recipe going, and run out the door. OK, so maybe I don’t run out the door, but I walk fast. I don’t think I’ve ever run out the door for real – except maybe the one time I overheard one of the kids telling a neighbor friend that mommy likes to drink moonshine (it was Trim Healthy Mama’s MOCK moonshine, not real alcohol!). I had to clarify that ASAP.
I have to start with the Instant Pot – If you only have a few minutes to get dinner cooking, the Instant Pot is an absolutely amazing time-saver (and it’s one of the few appliances that has earned it’s place on my kitchen counter!). Here are links to my favorite Instant Pot recipes and meal ideas:

And here is the list of my favorite quick prep recipes for you! If you don’t know what “S”, “E”, or “FP” mean, you can learn more about the Trim Healthy Mama way of eating here. But even if you don’t follow a particular diet, these are great, healthy recipes with very little prep time – anyone can benefit from having this list handy!

Thank you SO much! This is something I need badly and had never gotten around to collecting myself! I will be using it, I’m sure!
Why is this all about recipes for moms? What about dads?
The last survey showed that 97% of the people who are reading my blogposts are moms. No offense intended, I’m sorry! These would work for busy dads, as well. Or non-busy people, in general. Or just anyone who’s hungry. 🙂
Hi,
Is the Crock pot Asian pork chops an S because of the Pork?
Hi Pam! Yes, pork chops tend to have a fair amount of fat, which makes it an S recipe.
