This recipe is versatile (great hot or cold!), and a great low-carb protein drink! This is my new go-to for a super fast snack.

Why Collagen?

If you’ve ever dealt with stubborn weight loss, you may be looking for any change that you can make to get the scale moving again.

A few years ago, I dealt with a one-year weight loss stall. It wasn’t pretty. I was so extremely frustrated, and NOTHING was helping. I’m glad I stuck to THM, because it turned out that my weight loss stall was due to high cortisol. The high cortisol was adding weight around my midsection and keeping me from losing weight. Had I derailed and just eaten whatever I wanted, I probably would have gained quite a bit!

When I became certified as a THM Lifestyle Coach, I found that lots of women were having similar struggles. I learned a lot of tips to help me get rid of that stubborn weight, and I’ve used those tips to help my clients break through weight loss stalls, too!

One of the first things to try if you are a truly stubborn loser (I’m not calling you a loser, promise! I mean that your body is stubborn about losing weight!), is reducing dairy.

The Trim Healthy Mama Plan book recommends swapping out a few things if you have stubborn weight, and one of the suggestions is to try collagen as a protein source.

The problem I had is that my favorite FP is one scoop of THM Chocolate Pristine Whey Protein Powder blended up with 8 oz of unsweetened almond milk. That is my go-to, and I used to have it twice a day.

But realizing that I need to reduce dairy (I’m only having dairy once per day now, even though I could probably have more), I couldn’t enjoy the chocolate protein powder and almond milk drink as much as I used to.

I’ve made the simple change of drinking this FP Collagen Chocolate milk instead, and it’s helped so much! I’m getting protein (and it’s a great FP protein source to add to some healthy carbs for an E meal or snack).

This is a SUPER simple recipe (just 5 ingredients), and I can make it in under 2 minutes when I use my milk frother.

I got a milk frother for free when I bought my espresso machine, and I use it to make lattes. I have an Aeroccino, and I love it because you can set it to “hot” for a REALLY fast and delicious hot chocolate, or set it to “cold” for a really fast and delicious chocolate milk. Either way, it’s one of my favorite kitchen appliances and it’s earned its place on my kitchen counter!

I found a knockoff version with great reviews on Amazon, too – at nearly half the price!

If you don’t have a milk frother, you can always make your chocolate milk in a blender, then heat it on the stovetop or in the microwave if you’d rather have hot chocolate.

  4. I noticed you mentioned having too much stress hormones which caused you not to lose weight easily. Please, how did you fix those hormones?? I’m fixing to start the diet & I have same issues. Thank you very much!
