Hi Cheryl! My days may sound peaceful, and some are, but sometimes there’s chaos that you would expect with 5 kids. 🙂 I have similar issues with impatience in my oldest – I think it must be a common problem! My favorite resource for homeschool morning time is Pam Barnhill. We have 5 kids, too, but they are older than yours in this post. 13 down to almost 4!! I will be starting k4 this spring and my oldest starts high school in the fall!!! Ahhh!!! One of my homeschool Visions was always family learning so we quickly found a multi-age program. We mostly have used My Father’s World and absolutely love living history books. I wish my day was as peaceful as yours sounds. About 2 years ago my oldest wanted nothing to do with family learning and was very impatient with her siblings. We have struggled with an all together morning beginning since :/ any advice would be appreciated.

Just looked at your morning routines – and YES! I love “peeking” into others lives to see what they do and how they do it. I have 8 children (6-17 & 1st-12th grade). How do I get it all done? I don’t. There’s this thing called GRACE and I have to give myself a LOT of it. This week, living life (regular busy business) just gets in the way (and I LOVE sleep), in steps grace. God’s got the best plans. I totally don’t understand them. But it seems it just all works out in His time and these young eager people I live with will know what they need to know for living life for His purposes (not what some big test wants them to know).
Just grace.
Would someone please remind me of this when I’m grading papers and doing planning and can’t see over the laundry . . .
