Great points! Thanks for the feedback – I’ve gotten some pretty mean messages about this post so it’s encouraging to see that someone agrees! I think my kids are generally healthier because their immune systems are healthier, too!

I love this! I get judged by so many people because I chose not to vaccinate. But I have three girls who have never gotten sick, besides common cold, never gotten the flu, don’t catch viruses going around at school or anything else. I honestly believe that because the are not vaccinated their immune systems are a lot stronger. I hate when parents who don’t do research tell parents who choose to not vaccinate, “stay away frm my child, I don’t want them to get it”, I mean get what exactly??? Just because she isn’t vaccinated, doesn’t mean she is carrying around the measles, whooping cough, flu, etc. And if your kids are vaccinated? Why are you worried about it?!

Thank you for sharing that – It’s kind of hard to explain that I don’t hate vaccinations, I would just choose to do it safely and after doing tons of research. If I don’t feel that it’s safe for my child, I won’t do it.

My eldest who was vaccinated for whooping cough and still caught it….she gave it to child 2 who was not vaccinated and who got over it SO MUCH QUICKER than child 1. Oh and child 3 and 4 also non vaccinated did not get it. I am with you I am not Anti-vax I am Pro Safe Vax.

I am not trying to start a negative conversation, but I would like to see some information cited in this article. Ever time I hear people say they have done their research about this I never see it backed up. Coming from someone who had a family member die after receiving a flu shot, I understand that not all vaccines should be given to all children, but I have never been able to find a reliable source to research from. If anyone can share one, I would appreciate it.

Beautifully written. I know that feeling, I don’t get it….the parents who choose not to vaccinate are often the most educated people in the room….because it takes a lot more guts and knowledge to make the choice not to than to just go with the status-quo. I don’t understand why my doctor felt the need to lecture me every time I went in for a well baby, then I realized that the whole purpose of a well baby is to give the kids shots so I stopped going. I am not an anti-vaccine mama either, just an educated mom who is trying to do right by my kids.
